With this latest update, the "Rest" input functionality has been restored exclusively for the main constituents of metal materials. For those who handle metal material data, such as iron and aluminum, please review the changes detailed below.
Overview
In the previous version 15.2, the functionality to enter declarable substances as "Rest" was restricted. However, with the amendment of GADSL in March of this year, major elements of metal materials such as iron and aluminum—which were typically entered as "Rest"—were newly added to the declarable substance list.
A conflict occurred with the existing system configuration that prohibits "Rest" entries for declarable substances, causing unexpected errors even for normal and compliant metal material data sheets.
Improvements
To resolve this issue, IMDS has enhanced its system in accordance with SC90 (Material Composition Check Criteria) to allow "Rest" inputs exclusively for the main constituents of metal materials (Classifications 1 to 4).

1. Substances Allowed for "Rest" Input
The main constituents of materials falling under the classifications below can now be entered as "Rest".
Among the substances listed in the table above, those that are not currently designated on the declarable substance lists can be entered as "Rest" just as before.
2. Updates to the Check Function
In accordance with the changes mentioned above, the system's Check function has also been updated.
Previously, specifying a declarable substance (GADSL and SVHC) as "Rest" generated an error message during editing. Now, by making an exception for the main constituents of metal materials, error messages will no longer be generated for the metal material substances that fall under the table above.
Conclusion
Consequently, the errors that occurred when entering the main constituents of metal materials, such as iron and aluminum, as "Rest" following the GADSL update last March have been resolved through Release 15.3.1.
