On September 22, 2025, the Release 15.1 changes were announced thru the IMDS News. These changes are scheduled to be implemented on October 18 and 19, and the planned seven updates are as follows:
EU Deforestation Regulation: Regulatory Information
EU Deforestation Regulation: Contact Person
Updated Regulation Contact Search
Immediate Disclosure of Confidential Substances after GADSL/SVHC Update
Improved “Expand Tree” Functionality
Updated SC90 Checks for Metals
No Check for EUDR
1. EU Deforestation Regulation: Regulatory Information
Introduction of a new substance group related to the EUDR (EU Deforestation Regulation)
Addition of a new regulation type for EUDR in the Regulation Wizard
The entry method is similar to the existing BPR, REACH, and MCCP, but mandatory input will only apply starting with Release 16
Introduction of a new contact type: EUDR Contact Person
Can be looked up by other companies for inquiries regarding EUDR
3. Updated Regulation Contact Search
With the introduction of the EUDR Contact, the existing “REACH Contacts” menu has been renamed to “Regulation Contacts”
Users can now selectively search for either REACH or EUDR contacts
4. Immediate Disclosure of Confidential Substances after GADSL/SVHC Update
Confidential references to substances added to the GADSL or SVHC Candidate List will no longer remain confidential for 14 days
Once such a substance is flagged as GADSL or SVHC in IMDS, it will be disclosed during the next night in UTC time zone
The option to search for confidential substances has been removed from both Tree Search and Where-Used Analysis
5. Improved “Expand Tree” Functionality
To make it easier to navigate the MDS tree structure, the following two options will be added:
Expand tree to various levels
Expand tree by Tree Search criteria
Detailed explanations for each option will be provided in a new posting
6. Updated SC90 Checks for Metals
To reduce the number of warnings for metals, the SC90 checks verifying requirements regarding substances contained in a material and their portions have been updated
Instead of requiring a certain minimum portion, specific substances and substance groups within the respective classification must now hold the highest portion.
The fixed or minimum portion of the substance (or the sum of all fixed and minimum portions in the case of substance groups) must be equal to or greater than the fixed or minimum portion of any other substance in the same material
If the new requirement is not met, one of the following warning messages will be displayed:
A material of classification X must contain “Y” with the highest portion.
A material of classification X must contain substance group “Y” with the highest total portion.
Please refer to the example & material information relevant information below (* More examples and further details per material classification will be provided in a new posting)
